Cornflowers Gallery

💙 HURRAY!!! Pictures are down under here somewhere, keep scrolling. I’ve discovered that all the photos taken with my phone camera are a little skaddywhompus. Someday I’ll work on that, maybe, but for now I would rather be painting. I’m kinda proud of how these little paintings turned out, so for now just tilt your head. :)♡ I hope they spread some good cheer!

💙 My current obsession is painting small beautiful pictures, greeting card style, blank inside for personal sentiments and dedications. The designs are mostly flowers, (use your imagination here!) with some serious abstracts thrown in for good measure. I love color, lots of it, sometimes weird and delightful unexpected combinations. Reminder, my camera and your monitor don’t always see the same shades, the originals look even better than the photos. My paintings are unique, couldn’t do ‘another one just like it’ if I tried. I use acrylics on canvas and a variety of other things, including my clothes, photo paper, and ummm paper plates. These paintings are dried, spray clear coated, dried again, trimmed, carefully matched with colorful hand cut cardstock, glued, pressed, a folded clean white sheet to write on inserted, documented, signed, sealed in a cellophane bag with an A2 envelope and delivered, boxed or gifted. Whew! Image sizes vary, most finished cards are roughly 5.5 by 4 to 4.25 inches. More recently, I’ve been trimming the background a smidge narrower, to fit better into simple clear standing display frames. (My intention is to have one for every small painting!) Perfect for a splash of happy color on somebody’s desk. My ‘professional’ techniques include dip, drip, drop, drag, splatter, brush, pour, finger paint and OOPS. It’s great FUN! There must be magic in the mix too. Sometimes these totally surprise me with how really pretty they turn out. I hope you enjoy the wonderful results as much as I do.

💙 Update… I’m branching out. I’ve received a few requests for larger paintings. Not a lot bigger, but about 4×6” mounted on 5×7” cardstock. These will still have an envelope, but will fit perfectly in any 5×7” frame, or 8×10” frame with a 5×7” mat window. Easy peasy. More display choices this way, and bonus, we pay way less postage. Also, I’m dabbling with permanently mounting a few in coordinating frames. My favorites are ROUND in 10” square frames (12” outside diameter.) Better than square pegs in round holes. Unusual and beautiful! Others are framed in assorted colors and sizes, whatever I’m inspired to do. Wish you could see them in person!!

Original One of a Kind
